Gerry Francis has admitted that he found out the hard way the Blues are almost unstoppable.
And he claims he knows how to stop the West London club in their tracks.
The Queens Park Rangers legend thinks that teams can not afford one single slip up if they are to have any chance of defeating Antonio Conte’s side this season.
“It makes a difference wether you’re playing at home or away,” Francis told Sky Sports, when asked how to stop the Blues.
“At home the onus is obviously on them to attack.
“You can sit back and catch them on the break, which they do so well away from home to other teams.
“Their wing-backs are very important. It’ s important to make sure you stop them or match them but you can’t sit there all game.
“When you turn the ball over you’ve got to have a break and get at them if you can.
“I felt like our performance that day was excellent but a few minutes before the end of the game we make a mistake and when they’ve got the quality that they have they can finish it off.
“Certainly you have to work hard.
“You have to really close them down all over the pitch and concentrate for ninety minutes.
“But as most teams have seen this season, it’s very difficult to beat Chelsea at this moment.”
