Glen Johnson sidelined for four weeks

Liverpool have been dealt an injury blow with the news that right-back, Glen Johnson, will miss up to a month.

The defender picked up a groin injury during the heavy 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, and he is now likely to miss the busy Christmas and New Year period.

Johnson was substituted in the first-half and replaced by Kolo Toure, and according to reports, he is likely to miss at least four weeks due to the groin problem, meaning he will be out of action until mid-January.

This comes as yet another injury blow to the defender, who only just returned from a six-week lay-off, and with his contract expiring in the Summer, it’s not the best time to pick up another long-term injury.

Brendan Rodgers will choose between Javier Manquillo and Jose Enrique ahead of the Capital One Cup game against Bournemouth.
