Agent confirms striker is not leaving Napoli
Gonzalo Higuain won’t be leaving Napoli anytime soon, according to his agent.
The Argentine international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Serie A, with Arsenal and Chelsea both linked with signing him in recent months.
However, his agent has dealt a massive transfer blow to the London duo by confirming his client has no intentions of leaving Napoli.
Higuain was heavily linked with a move away from the Italian outfit during the January transfer window, but the striker admitted it took just minutes for the manager to convince him to stay.
Maurizio Sarri, the Napoli boss, urged Higuain to stay put, and his sincerity kept the striker in Italy.
“Sarri? He convinced me with his sincerity – it took five minutes for him to convince me to stay, and he got the best out of me,” he said.
Agent Confirms Plans
Speaking about his client’s future, Higuain’s agent, who is also his brother, has confirmed that he won’t be on the move in the summer either.
“We have a contract and there’s no chance of playing elsewhere, but we can’t think about the Champions League now, but just about playing every game,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“When Gonzalo plays it’s normal that there’s a high chance of scoring goals, he’s having a great season.”
