Manchester City manager Pep guardiola has said that Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker are fit enough to play in their Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk. Kevin de Bruyne made his first appearance for City following recovery when he came on as a second half substitute against Burnley. Walker missed the match against Burnley due to a groin injury.

However, Guardiola said that both players are fit enough to play against Shakhtar Donetsk. He said, “If they are here it is because they are ready to play.”

The Spaniard also spoke about the future of David Silva and Fernandinho at City. He said, “They [Silva and Fernandinho] have two more years contract but they have to think day by day, month by month and then ask themselves at the end of the season if they are still ready to play. My advice then is to play, you have to play.”

Manchester City are currently second in their Champions League group behind Lyon. They began their campaign with a home defeat to Lyon before defeating Hoffenheim in their own backyard. Guardiola said that the team needed to learn from their loss to Lyon. He said, “Learn from that [defeat]. When you play an entire season the Champions League level is higher. So work. It looks easy, it is not. When you win games with a big result it is not easy. So learn, you have 15 points still to play for and to compete in the competition you have to live it. All we can do is learn and try to avoid it in the future.”

Manchester City take on Shakhtar Donetsk tomorrow.
