Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola thinks that the title race for this season’s Premier League has widened up after their the club’s defeat to Chelsea.

Goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz gave Chelsea a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge yesterday. They handed Manchester City their first Premier League defeat since April 2017 when they lost 2-3 to Manchester United at home. City now go down to 2nd in the league table and are a point behind Liverpool.

When asked about the title race, Guardiola said, “We are in December – if you [ask] me if Liverpool can win the Premier League, I will say yes. If you [ask] me right now in the position, Tottenham or Chelsea or Arsenal can win the Premier League, I will say yes. Everybody can win the Premier League.”

Manchester City next play their final Champions League group game against Hoffenheim on Wednesday. City are already through to the knockout stages and there’s hardly any doubt that they will win their group. After facing Hoffenheim, City take on Everton on Saturday.
