Liverpool are set to sign Mexican international keeper Guillermo Ochoa for £4m from Spanish side, Malaga.
The Mexican keeper was highly sort after by many clubs after a stellar World Cup, but has failed to make an appearance for Malaga, after being benched due to Cameroonian ‘keeper, Carlos Kameni being the club’s number-one.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is set to make a bid of £4m to lure the Mexican to Liverpool to add depth to the goalkeeping department, with Simon Mignolet raising doubts over his ability.
The Belgium shot-stopper has come under heavy scrutiny from Liverpool fans after several errors in between the sticks, and Rodgers is ready to sign a replacement in the New Year.
It was believed that Victor Valdes could be joining the club on a free transfer, but those reports were rubbished after months of speculation by Rodgers himself.
As for Ochoa, he only signed for Malaga on a free transfer in July.
