Arsenal are close to announcing the signing of Greek international defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund after lengthy talks with his agent.
It is understood a bid of around £11million has been submitted by the Gunners for the 26 year old who wears the number 26 shirt at the Signal Iduna Park.
Arsenal are confident this move can be done before transfer deadline day on Monday and are as far as having personal terms talks with his agent, the move will be welcomed by Arsenal fans who have been calling for defensive reinforcements.
The greek defender is open to the move to London and wats the agreement to get done asap so he has maximum time ot adjust to English life before Arsenal head into the bigger competitions and challenge on all four fronts.
Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign this weekend on Sunday with a tricky away trip to Leicester.
