Sunderland manager, Gus Poyet, is set to have emergency talks with the club’s board after training today.
The Black Cats are in danger of being relegated to the Championship after a string of poor results, and this weekend’s 4-0 hammering at home to fellow-strugglers Aston Villa, could be the nail in the coffin for the Italian.
According to BBC, Poyet is taking training today for the club but will then have talks with the board regarding his future and the plans for the remainder of the season.
With nine games left, Sunderland are 17th in the table, just one point above safety and have lost six out of their last 10 games.
To make things worse for Poyet and Sunderland, the strugglers still have to go to Arsenal, Stoke, Everton and Chelsea, whilst hosting Southampton as well.
