Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has urged Liverpool to sell controversial forward Luis Suarez.

Suarez has been banned from all forms of football for four months, including training, following a third biting incident, this time on Itaslian defender Giorgio Chiellini.

And speaking to Talksport, Hamann, who won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005, believes that Liverpool should sell the 27 year old Uruguay international, for the good of their fooball club.

“He’s bitten someone three times now,” the ex-German international told Colin Murray. “FIFA, with the ban they’ve given him, are saying, ‘this is your last chance, if you do it again, that’s it for good’.

“He’s a player that’s worth £60-80m. I’m not sure if they can get that sort of money now, but if this happens again it will finish his career. I wouldn’t take a punt on him. You can’t trust him.

“It’s time for Liverpool to get rid of him.”
