Harry Kane has hailed his team’s excellent start to the season as they crushed Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur have maintained their winning streak as they have kept the juggernaut rolling.
Kane gave the away side a lead as he rose past Phil Jones to net his second goal in August. There had been a myth that the Spurs forward doesn’t have the knack of scoring goals in the opening month but the England captain has broken all the jinx by finding the net on more than one occasion.
Lucas Moura scored a brace as Spurs inflicted a heavy defeat on Jose Mourinho’s side who are now winless in their last two matches. Despite not winning a major trophy in the last few seasons, the North London side have managed to produce consistent top four finish which itself is a major statement.
Kane said, “Whenever you’re playing in these games away from home the first goal is so important
“We got it and then we punished them.
“Three wins out of three – it’s been a fantastic start.
“That’s the only way we’re going to win the league. We haven’t started well in previous years, we’ve dropped points here and there and then we’ve had to play catch-up for the rest of the season.
“The top six is so strong now you have to stay up there, you have to stay at the top all the way through. The only way to do that is to come to places like this and get the three points.”
