Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has said that while the club does not have a history like Manchester United or Chelsea, they have the potential to move to the next level.
Spurs registered their third successive win of the Premier League by defeating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford. This was their first win against United at their home turf since January 2014. Harry Kane scored the opening goal of the match in the 50th minute. This was Spurs’ first goal in a Premier League match at Old Trafford since January 2014.
Following the match, Kane said, “This will give us huge belief, it’s a great statement tonight. We’re trying to create our own history at Spurs. We’ve not been top of the league over the years like United, like Chelsea. We’ve done well in the last few years but not quite got there – but we have the drive to take the club to the next level.”
Talking about the squad, the England captain said, “A lot of us have been playing together for a while and that helps. It’s a long old season, and at times like today in the first half we stuck together, that’s what will help us win the title. The gaffer said he is not bringing players in who won’t improve the squad and that’s a big bonus for us.”
Tottenham Hotspur are currently 2nd in the Premier League table between Liverpool and Chelsea. They play their next match against Watford on Sunday.
