Harry Redknapp wants Adebayor on loan

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is keen on landing Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan for the rest of the season, but the former-Spurs boss knows it would be difficult to persuade him to join a Championship side, even if it was just a loan.

The Togo striker has been told by the club that when he returns, he will have to train with the developmental squad and manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he had opportunities to leave White Hart Lane in the summer, but rejected all approaches.

Now with the transfer window shut, the only option for Adebayor is to either train with the youths at Tottenham, or seek a loan move, and with that in mind, Redknapp is keen to reunite with the 29-year-old.

‘He’d be a great loan, that’s for sure,’ said Redknapp.

‘I don’t know what will happen with him. He’s a good player but it’s up to Tottenham, they have lots of good players.

‘He can’t go on loan in the Premier League, he can only go into the Championship but whether he’d want to do that – it would be difficult I think.’
