The Belgian has put the Blues’ winning start down to Conte

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has praised the players’ attitude and Antonio Conte for the club’s perfect start to the Premier League campaign.

Last season the Blues finished an abysmal 10th, while Jose Mourinho was sacked before the new year and left the west Londoner’s in woeful state as they began their search for a new manager.

However, two 2-1 wins at home to West Ham and away to Watford have earned Chelsea a maximum six points and lifted the fans after a season to forget, last campaign.

Hazard was quick to show appreciation for his teammates, following Saturday’s win, but was also keen to outline Conte as a big part of the reason why the Blues’ are seemingly on their way to getting back to their best.

“The attitude is fantastic, even in training everyone wants to win games. That’s why now we are winning,” said Hazard.

“It’s just the start of the season but if we want to stay at the top we have to win. Both Manchester teams won, we had to win and we did.

“He (Conte) is a good manager, he believes in his team and we try to give everything for him. We want to win for the fans too.”

However, the 25-year-old will not be getting too carried away with Chelsea’s good start, adding: “It’s early. We have a good team, there are a lot of good teams in the Premier League and we will see at the end, but of course we want to be the champions.”

Michy Batshuayi netted his first goal for Chelsea, against Watford, while Diego Costa, for the second game running, netted a late winner to make it two goals from two games.

Now Conte is set to get his first taste of cup competition in England, when his side face Bristol Rovers in the second round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
