Reports claim that Eden Hazard will be given a new contract at Chelsea. The contract will see his weekly wages rise to a whopping £300,000. This will make him Chelsea’s most expensive player, surpassing N’Golo Kante whose weekly wages are £290,000.
Earlier, there were plenty of speculation that Hazard would go to Real Madrid with the Belgian himself calling a move to the club a ‘dream’. However, Hazard himself confirmed that he is staying at Chelsea. Hazard has another two years left on his present contract.
The Belgium captain came on as a second half substitute in both of Chelsea’s Premier League matches so far. However, Maurizio Sarri has said that he will become a regular starter within the next week or two at most.
Chelsea have won their first two Premier League matches against Huddersfield Town and Arsenal. They are currently third in the Premier League table with a goal-difference inferior to that of Manchester City and Liverpool. The Blues play their next Premier League fixture against Newcastle United on Sunday.
