Hazard wants legendary status after scoring his 100th goal for Chelsea

Eden Hazard was on target once again as the Blues got themselves back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road on Boxing Day. Hazard put Chelsea in the lead before Roberto Pereyra equalised with a fine volley and the Belgian scored the winner from the spot to help his team grab all three points.

The 27-year-old scored his 100th goal for the Blues and took his goal tally to 101 at the end of the game. His brace ensured that Chelsea reclaimed their fourth spot after Arsenal had overtaken them with a 1-1 draw against Brighton earlier in the day.

Amidst rumours that he might leave for Real Madrid at the end of his contract, Hazard wants to establish himself as one of the legends at Stamford Bridge. He was pleased with the character his side showed following a defeat to Leicester City in their previous outing.

He told Sky Sports: “The goals mean a lot, especially because of the win. Yes, 101 goals with this amazing club is something I will never forget. Now, I think me, the fans, the players, we want more.

“I want to score more goals for the club, and become a legend, like [Frank] Lampard, [John] Terry, [Didier] Drogba. I try to do my best, but when we are winning we can enjoy it a lot.”

“We showed great character against Manchester City after losing to Wolves. And today, after losing to Leicester, we did the same. ” he added.

“We played really well. When we fight together we are a top team so we need to do it more.”
