Gunners defender Hector Bellerin has spoken about the differences between Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery. The Spaniard said, “I think the training has fully changed. Arsene had different views of football that the new head coach has, so obviously it’s changed. From the gym sessions that we had before training, to the sessions on the pitch and the running, everything has changed. Also the analysis and use of videos is different. Every single coach in the Premier League these days has a different way of viewing football and different ideas.

Hector Bellerin added, “A lot of people and staff have changed and he wants to give himself the best chance to make this team successful. We’ve seen he wants us to be a team that, first of all, don’t concede goals. I think that’s something that has always been important for his team, whether he was at PSG or Sevilla. You can see that his teams are very compact and compete for every single ball and that’s what’s made him so successful. He has had a lot of success with teams that probably weren’t the best technically or didn’t have the best players, but they fought till the end and he’s showing that to every single player and that’s the way he wants us to be involved.”

Unai Emery himself has claimed that Arsenal needed a new approach. Emery said, “It’s a new way, a new process. The past is very important for this club with the people who were working here. But we are starting a new way, a new process with the same players and the new players, the new coaches. Keeping a lot of the good ideas they were working here and also bringing a new time to improve in the tactical things under my idea to transmit the players my spirit and in this way the energy in the moment we need that. And also together to do a new way, a new process in Arsenal.”

Arsenal begin their Premier League campaign against defending champions Manchester City today.
