Henderson hoping victory over Hull kick-starts year

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is hoping the New Year’s Day win over hull city can kick-start their season after losing their last 2 games against Manchester city and Chelsea respectively. Liverpool beat hull city 2-0 by a Daniel Agger header and an outstanding free kick by Luis Suarez who took his goal tally up to 20 this season.

Three points meant they went back into the top 4 after Everton slipped up against Stoke (1-1). Henderson speaking to Liverpool Echo after victory said “it was important to get the year off to a good start, maybe we didn’t play as well as we have done but we showed we can grind result even when were not at our best.”

Henderson who has vital for Liverpool this season has racked up 2 goals and 5 assists from 21 appearances this season. Liverpool’s home record has been brilliant this season playing 10 games and winning 9 of them including a game against Manchester United.  Henderson speaking out about said “our aim is to make Anfield a fortress- to make it really difficult for teams when they come here.”

Finally Henderson spoke out about ambitions for the rest of the season he said “were back in the top four and I definitely believe we can stay there. Now we’ve got to keep it going and try to kick on for the rest of the season.”
