Liverpool skipper seeks second opinion on problem

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has flown to America in an attempt to get a second opinion on the foot injury that he sustained against Bournemouth.

The new Reds skipper damaged his Achilles in the win over the Cherries back on the 17th August and has been unable to play since, leading to Brendan Rodgers sanctioning the trip overseas to seek a second opinion on the injury.

Henderson is still keen to play apart in Liverpool‘s encounter with Norwich City at the weekend despite the set back, and the second opinion will make or break his chances of coming back into the side following two straight defeats.

Originally it was advised that just resting the injury would be enough for it to heal, however with the Reds in poor form recently Henderson is doing everything he can to be fit in time for Sunday.

A variation of ultrasounds and other soothing procedures with American technology will give the skipper a chance of being involved, with Rodgers desperate to have him back as the pressure on his own future begins to mount.
