Barcelona manager wants Pedro to stay.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to trigger his £23 million release clause.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has reportedly spoken to benched winger Pedro and has begged him to snub interest from England.

Speaking to Football Espana, Enrique said: “I understand that a player like Pedro wants to have more minutes.

“He’s been a world champion, won many trophies in Barcelona and behind three of the best players in the world.

“I hope he stays because he’s an amazing player and gives very good performances.

“If he does go, he’ll weaken the squad because he has a lot of quality.”

Premier League Interest

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have both reportedly shown an interest in the Spanish international, but the Manchester club appear to be the favourites to land the winger.

Some outlets have even been reporting that the deal is done, although Enrique’s words today suggest that is not the case.

Although it could point towards the deal being close, with Enrique trying a last ditch attempt to retain the 27-year-old.

United will most likely be scouring the market for a replacement for Paris bound winger Angel Di Maria, who seems almost certain to leave the club.

Pedro has history with Manchester United having scored the opening goal in their 3-1 Champions League Final Win against the Old Trafford side at Wembley.
