Hiddink to be offered new role at Chelsea

Guus Hiddink is reported to be offered an advisory role at Chelsea FC, as it looks more and more certain that Antonio Conte is to become the new Blues Boss.

The Dutchman took over from Jose Mourinho back in December on a caretaker basis, after an absolutely disastrous campaign. Up until now, the London club has only lost one game under his tenure, and things are looking up for the club.

However, Hiddink is still expected to stand down at the end of the season despite this complete turn in fortune, this in turn has led to much speculation over the past few weeks regarding his future, with the Daily Mail claiming Abramovich will offer the 69-year-old the chance to stay on at the club as an advisor.

It seems right for Abramovich to offer Hiddink at least this role, as through him, Chelsea have fought out of a relegation scrap and have begun to climb the table, piling together some very convincing performances.

Although Guus Hiddink has been the key to Chelsea’s success this season, Antonio Conte is still set to replace him this summer, reportedly  being close to joining the club on a three-year deal worth around ÂŁ18million, according to Express Sport.
