Napoli refuse to sell for no less than contract release clause
Napoli will refuse to sell striker Gonzalo Higuain for any less than his £78.5million release clause this summer.
Sky Sports Italia have revealed that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis held talks with Juventus President Andrea Agnelli at a meeting of Serie A officials.
Higuain’s £78.5million release clause is one that Juventus are reportedly happy to meet, with their offering set to be a cash + player deal amounting to the same value.
If Napoli reject that offer, it’s understood that Juve will be allowed to pay the release clause over a 2-year period.
Higuain, who joined Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013, has two years remaining on his contract in Naples. He ended the 2015/16 season as the top scorer in Serie A with 36 goals.
