The striker wants a new challenge in his career

According to the Express, Gonzalo Higuain has told Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis he wants to leave the Serie A club this summer.

Despite being under contract until 2018, the Argentine international is the reported subject of a £43 million bid from Arsenal, according to Italian website Calciomercato.com.

However, the reports also suggest that Higuain‘s contract has a ludicrous buy-out clause of £67.4 million, but clubs around Europe will be adamant they can secure his signature for much cheaper.

The Gunners are interested once again

Another transfer window, another rumour linking Higuain with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The centre forward has admitted he wants to leave Italy and after winning the Coppa Italia with Napoli. He has also won the La Liga title numerous times and the Copa Del Rey during his time at Real Madrid.

Higuain may feel as though he needs a new challenge in his career and the Premier League could be his next destination.

He has scored 35 goals in 69 Serie A appearances in Naples since his £29 million move from the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013.
