FA could offer Three Lions boss new deal this summer
England boss Roy Hodgson insists he is relaxed about his Three Lions future and that his focus is solely on his side’s next game, against Slovakia on Monday.
The Three Lions face their eastern European opponents on Monday knowing that victory will see them finish top of Group B and progress to the last 16. However, speculation has been brewing in recent weeks, whether the former Fulham and Liverpool will keep his Wembley hot seat.
“It’s been raised many times before so it doesn’t make any difference to me one way or the other to be honest,” Hodgson said at England’s press conference ahead of the game, on Sunday.
“My contract runs out after this tournament – that is a fact that everyone has known about for the last two years.
“That is what we will keep on doing and after our stay here at this tournament ends the FA will need to make a decision about what they want to do with respect to the future.”
England suffered a horrendous World Cup in Brazil two years ago, exiting at the group stages, and a new deal hangs in the balance, depending on where this young squad finish at Euro 2016.
