Right now, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are blooming at Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
Both show no signs to leave just yet, but Real Madrid knows better. They have their eye on the two strikers for quite some time. And when the time is right, the La Liga giants shall be ready to swoop in. The time we’re looking at? It’s this year 2020 and the next, 2021.
Right now, the summer transfer windows seems extremely fragile. However, Real Madrid are desperately on the lookout for a striker to lessen the pressure on Karim Benzema. Benzema is the primary scorer right now, but he can’t keep in the attacking region forever alone.
Of course, there’s the race behind Jadon Sancho, the wonderkid from Borussia Dortmund. However, Real Madrid already invested over a 100 million euros in Eden Hazard.
So the option turns to Haaland and Mbappe. If either of them get free this summer, Real Madrid is sure to snap them up and make a bid before any other club. However, with dipping finances this year due to the coronavirus spread and La Liga being suspended, Real Madrid might look to sign them in 2021 as well.
However, there is also a possibility for both stars to be signed together. Real could benefit greatly if the two starlets enter their side. Mbappe could potentially come over to their side, if he doesn’t extend his contract with PSG. Moreover, if his contract doesn’t get extended, Mbappe’s value will drop significantly – down to 200 million euros – and Real could potentially afford that, even if they sign Haaland before that.
