Jose Mourinho’s men in cup action at the Britannia Stadium

Chelsea are back in action tonight as they travel to Stoke City to take on their Premier League rivals at the Britannia Stadium in the Capital One Cup Fourth Round.

After a dismal run of both form and results, which has seen them lose to the likes of West Ham, Southampton, Everton, Crystal Palace and Manchester CityChelsea desperately need a win tonight.

With the pressure cranking up on the special one to turn Chelsea fortunes around, one can be forgiven for thinking this game is bigger then it should be.

Jose Mourinho looks a man on the edge at the moment, can Stoke be the team that push him over said edge?

If reports are to be believed, this is a must win game for Mourinho.

According to various sources, the Portuguese has a mere week to salvage his Stamford Bridge career. Other reports suggest it is  a matter of ‘when not if’ the out-spoken Blue will bite the dust.

Team Prediction

Given Mourinho’s unpredictability at the moment coupled with the fact that Chelsea shunned their media responsibilities this week. Predicting the Chelsea line up is somewhat like predicting the whether.

What we do know is Nemanja Matic is suspended following his two bookable offences against the loss to West Ham, while Thibaut Courtois and Branislav  Ivanovic remain long-term absentees.

Meanwhile Loic Remy and Pedro – who sat out against West Ham- could still be injury doubts, however, we are unable to update you further as Chelsea have not spoken to the media.

Begovic, Zouma, Terry (c), Cahill, Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek, Ramires, Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Diego Costa.

Predicted Stoke lineup: Butland, Johnson, Cameron, Wollscheid, Pieters, Whelan, Adam, Shaqiri, Krcic, Arnautovic, Joselu.
