Spurs will not break wage structure for star
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is in a contract standoff with the club.
Chairman Daniel Levy has a tight wage structure and it’s thought that he’s unwilling to break it, even for one of his best players.
If Lloris wants to sign a new, long-term contract, he will have to remain inside that structure.
The French goalkeeper is thought to be willing to sign a new contract at White Hart Lane, but Levy refuses to pay any player over ÂŁ100,000 per week.
Lloris is currently on ÂŁ80,000 per week, but knows he could double his wages if he left North-London and went to play elsewhere.
Tottenham had a similar issue over Christian Eriksen, when his agent originally demanded around ÂŁ150,000-a-week, but a compromise was reached and the Dane penned a new ÂŁ70,000-a-week contract.
