Hugo Lloris Issues Apology For Drunk Driving

Tottenham Hotspur keeper Hugo Lloris has issued an apology after being charged with drunk driving. The 31 year old is scheduled to appear in a court in September after police stopped him in Gloucester Place on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement following the incident, ” Hugo Lloris, of East Finchley, north London, was bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on September 11.

Lloris did not take part in the Spurs training and it is not clear whether he will be in the goal or not when the North Londoners visit the Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Monday. The French World Cup winner who could lose his armband has apologised for his wrongdoings.  “I wish to apologise wholeheartedly to my family, the club, my team-mates, the manager and all of the supporters.

“Drink driving is completely unacceptable. I take full responsibility for my actions and it is not the example I wish to set.”

Spurs are expected to take strict action and can launch a probe into the matter. A statement read, “the club takes matters such as this extremely seriously and it will be dealt with internally.”
