Tottenham Hotspur keeper Hugo Lloris has revealed the toughest attacker he has faced in his career. The French captain named former Real Madrid forward Raul and former Portugal international Pauleta.
The French international has played with and against some of the most esteemed and talented footballers of the world. The former Nice keeper led his country to World Cup glory in July when he lifted the trophy in Moscow.
Lloris currently is recovering from a thigh injury as he missed Spurs’ 2-1 loss against Watford. He also wasn’t in the France squad which faced Germany and Holland in the UEFA Nations League.
Raul made his name playing for Real Madrid. The former Spanish international was known for his unique celebration style and was a part of Los Blancos galacticos side.
On being asked about his favourite opponent the Tottenham keeper answered, “It’s hard to pick one.”
“A player like Raul, I played him when he was at Real Madrid and Schalke, he always had that quick glance on the goalkeeper, on where he was positioned and he shot depending on that.
“After that, there’s the Suarezs, the Messis, I don’t need to present them.
“Back in the day, there was also Pauleta at Paris Saint-Germain. I played him a lot when I was at Nice.”
