Hummels commits future to Dortmund

Germany star Mats Hummels has played down any move to Manchester United in the future. 

The powerhouse centre-back was linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer transfer window, with some reports suggesting that a deal had been agreed in principle. 

However, the 25 year-old remains adamant that his future lies at Borussia Dortmund and intends to see out the remainder of his contract with the German club.  

Hummels said: “I wanted to set an example with the extension I signed and it will run for five years until 2017.”

he highly-rated defender also revealed that he could easily have remained at old club Bayern Munich if they hadn’t made him feel unwanted, adding: “If Bayern had not bought Breno in 2007 for €12million [ÂŁ9.6m], I would not have left, but that’s the way football is sometimes.

“I was practically forced towards happiness. It was the best thing that could have happened to me.”
