Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has reassured fans of the club that he will give his all to be a hit at the club this season, despite wanting to leave in the summer.

It has been several months in the headlines for Suarez and for all the wrong reasons.

After being banned for 10-games near the end of last season for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, the Uruguayan striker then revealed that he wanted to leave the club in order to play in the Champions League.

Then followed months of rumours and comments made publically by both Suarez and Liverpool, but eventually, the striker was forced to stay on at Anfield.

Last night was his return to first-team action and after the game he promised to give his all to the club.

“All the time I try my best on the pitch. I’m here to help the team and help Liverpool,” he said.

The 26-year-old then spoke about the 1-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Manchester United and admitted that the side thought they deserved to win.

“The result is not good because we lost but the feeling is good because we played very well, we created chances and we missed,” Suarez told Liverpool’s official website.

“I know it was a difficult moment but for myself and for the team it’s very important I’m back because I can help the team and off the pitch I can’t.

“We’ll keep going for the week and for the next game.”
