Gylfi Sigurdsson has said that he can see the confidence returning in the Everton ranks.
The Icelandic midfielder scored a brace to help the Toffees get over the line against Cardiff City.
Everton talisman Gylfi Sigurdsson has said that he can see the confidence returning to the players in the side after their 3-0 win against Cardiff City. The Toffees’ midfielder scored a brace against the Bluebirds to get his side over the line while Dominic Calvert-Lewin added one right at the end of the match. This is Everton’s first win after three defeats in a row at the hands of Watford, Manchester City and Wolves respectively.
Speaking on Everton’s official website, the Iceland international said, “It was a good performance from us against Cardiff.”
He added, “Three points, three goals and a clean sheet, so It was a perfect game. We know how tough they are to play against, especially at home, but I thought we dealt with them well. When we made it 2-0, you could feel the confidence and freedom come into the team. I thought we controlled it and we probably could have had more goals if we were more clinical. The win is important to us and it’s nice to get it with a performance like that. It would be fantastic to back it up with another good performance and another good result on Sunday.”
