Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is still yet to find his best XI as the Portuguese-man tries to pick up the club’s slow start to the season.

The Blues got back to winning ways on Saturday thanks to a 2-0 home win over Fulham after Oscar and John Obi Mikel found the net, but their start is still one of the worst starts to a season under Roman Abramovich.

Before the Fulham game, eyebrows were raised when news spread that both David Luiz and Juan Mata were not even included in the match-day squad, despite them being two of their star-players last season.

Despite being only two points behind league leaders Arsenal, Mourinho has still had to defend himself so far this season and has also admitted that he is yet to find his best starting line-up.

“Of course, I don’t know,” he told Chelsea TV.

“But the players have to give me the answers. I cannot dig and dig and dig looking for the best team. The players must give me the answer.

“Do I have a doubt that [Branislav] Ivanovic is in this moment my right-back? I have no doubt. You see the way the guy performs. So it is up to them.

“If somebody is waiting for me to give shirts because of status and history, that’s not the point. Of course, I have some doubts in some positions and I think it’s normal.”
