Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he doesn’t want to sign Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov, despite admitting that he is low on options up front with both Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner now out injured.

The Gunners have heavily relied on Giroud all season to be the lone-man up front due to injuries to Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski, but now they have both returned, it is now Giroud and also Bendtner that are set to be sidelined for the next few games, with the Dane set to miss over a month due to a sprained ankle.

With a long-search for a striker failing in the Summer, it is believed that Wenger will try and snap one up in January with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and also Fulham’s Berbatov.

However, Wenger has revealed that he has no interest in signing the former-Tottenham and Manchester United player.

Wenger said: ‘I won’t go into any specific names. That would be disrespectful. We are assessing our options which are restricted. Berbatov is not a name we have considered.

‘We are analysing the situation. Until we know about Bendtner and (Yaya) Sanogo we will make a decision on that. The players who can strengthen our squad are under contract.’
