Manchester United and Arsenal target Benedikt Howedes has admitted that he would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Reports suggest that the two clubs may only have to pay ÂŁ14 million, to secure the services of the World Cup winner.

Manchester United look the early favourites to sign Howedes, who has 18 months left on his current contract at Schalke.

Louis van Gaal is said to be plotting a double Bundesliga swoop that also includes Mats Hummels.

The 26 year old has been linked with Bayern Munich, but in an interview with German publication Sport Bild, he revealed his next intended move will be to England.

“I’m fine here, but in the future I could move on,” he said.

“I believe that if I leave the club it won’t be to remain in this league. I can imagine going abroad to gain a new experience and I think England is possibly my next destination.”
