The Colombian was making bet with Lionel Messi over free-kicks in training

The Colombian star who recently joined the Spanish side Barca looked happy at the club. He was seen betting over free-kicks in training with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

When asked about the incident, the player joked about paying for Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to go shopping .

The Centre-back joined the Spanish side from Palmeiras after the Brazilian side and Barcelona agreed on a deal for the transfer of Yerry Mina for the remainder of the season and five more until 30 June 2023. The cost of the transfer was €11.8 million and his release clause was set at €100 million.

He is the first Colombian to play for the Spanish side.

In talks with a Spanish magazine, the Barcelona player said, “When I arrived, to create a good atmosphere I started to bet with Messi and Suarez to see who took the best free-kicks in training, I did it just to watch them.”

“Before I knew it they were taking 50 euros a day off me. And I was like, ‘What, I’m paying for these guys to go shopping!’ But the truth is those monsters put the ball wherever they want it. They are fantastic people and they are wizards.”

However the player admitted that nothing was goin his way from the few matches he played for Barca.

“I thought a lot of things, a lot of bad things, I thought I was finished” the player added.

“I felt so bad and [Philippe] Coutinho and Paulinho tried to encourage me all the time and told me that everything would be fine. For me, I understand that there are spectacular players [at centre-back] but I just wanted to have a minute to impress and it didn’t happen.”

“The few minutes I did get, they were bad … it felt at times like everything was going wrong and coming down. I felt like I couldn’t do anything right, such as even giving a pass in training.”

The player still looks clueless about his role at Barca.

He said, “In terms of my future, I have no idea but I’m calm about it. I’m 23 years old and have a lot of football left to play.”
