Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this Summer once his contract expires.

The right-back has been in talks with the club since December, but due to a difference in opinions, he has failed to agree a new deal and is now set to leave on a free once his deal ends.

Despite Arsene Wenger admitting in the press this week that he is desperate to keep the Frenchman at the club, Sagna himself has held an interview and has admitted that due to falling-out with the club, a move away will be likely.

Arsenal have offered Sagna three different deals ranging from a 12-month extension worth £65k-a-week, to a three-year deal worth £75k-a-week, however, the defender was holding out for a whopping pay-rise which would have seen him earn around £110k-a-week.

A source close to the 31-year-old admitted that Sagna felt disrespected and betrayed by the club after the loyalty he showed throughout a tough period at the club, but he has now confirmed the news that he will be leaving.

‘I’m out of contract, as everyone knows. I still consider myself as an Arsenal player at present,’ he said.

‘But actually we had a small problem to agree [with the club], and I don’t think stay at Arsenal at the end of the season.’
