Manchester United and Chelsea target Mauro Icardi has reportedly turned down a new Inter Milan contract worth £2 million.

Media outlet Mediaset claim that Icardi will reject the offer from the Serie A giants, as he is using interest from the Premier League to gain the money he wants.

The Argentine international is apparently receiving a low wage on his current contract and is holding out for at least £2.2 million.

However, the 22-year old admits he is happy in Italy and wants the situation to be resolved soon.

When speaking to CNN, he said: “I still have three years, and if we can find an agreement then everyone’s going to be happy.”

He also added: “If other clubs want me, they have to talk about it with Inter. If the club wants to sell me, I’ll pack my bags and go. Otherwise, I’ll stay in Milan, as I really like it here and I’m happy. My family feels at home here.”

The attacker has scored 17 goals this season for Roberto Mancini’s men.
