Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero claims to be a proud man about his reputation in world football and he has even admitted that he wouldn’t even think about diving for his team, and that’s because he cannot act.
The City forward, who has been sensational so far this campaign, was speaking in an interview about cheating in the game and divers in the Premier League, and the Argentine revealed why he would never dive himself.
“It’s funny because many people have told me I need to go down more,” said Aguero.
“My reaction, though, is it would be an automatic yellow because I’m really bad at it!
“My character and style of play mean I will carry on and stay on my feet as much as possible. If I fall, I’ll get up again and go after the ball. That’s just the way I am.”
The Premier League winner even admitted that just before he scored THAT goal against Queens Park Rangers, he thought about going down for a penalty as he felt he was fouled.
“The first thought that came into my head when I received the ball that day was I had been caught on my heel and ankle,” he said. “I thought about going down, but because I have this fear about not being a very good diver, I stayed on my feet.
“It was a split-second thought to go down for a penalty, because it definitely was one, but I stayed on my feet and scored and it was the right decision.”
