Lucas Torreira has admitted he needs time to settle in the Premier League. The Uruguayan midfielder was one of the new recruits under new boss Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal summed up their transfer business very early in this summer as they wrapped up a number of signing including the former Sampdoria midfielder. The 22 year old hasn’t started a game for the Gunners this season as he played just 64 minutes of top flight football so far but his performance in the middle of the park has brought a stability in the middle of the park and it would surely give Emery a sigh of assurance.
Torreira had been one of the most influential playmakers in the Serie-A for the last couple of season and his display in the 3-1 win over West Ham United earned him plenty of accolades.
The midfielder reveals life in England is tough to adjust but he is trying to settle in quickly. “I’m really happy. It’s all very new for me because I’ve come from a different type of league. The climate is different here and the way of life too, but I’m settling in nicely and training hard – the sessions are different too. The confidence will grow with every game, so that’s great.”
