In the wake of Arsenal 3-0 Community Shield Victory over a out of sorts Manchester City, Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla has confimred he will be staying at The Emirates for the forthcoming season. The midfielder has quashed any rumours that he was off to Atletico Madrid.

Cazorla who joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 scored Arsenal’s first of three goals at Wembley on Saturday, setting Arsenal up for their second trophy in a few months.

Cazorla has stated he is only thinking of the new Premier League season and improving on Arsenal’s fourth place finish last term, “I’m only focused on training here and preparing well playing with Arsenal. It’s paper talk. I’m well, I have the confidence of everybody, the support of the fans and we hope to have a good season.”

The little Spaniard went on to assure he knows nothing of a move to Atletico and that it is all just paper talk, “I’ve seen that in the papers, but nobody has told me anything personally and the only things I know are from the papers, so I don’t know anything.”

Have Arsenal got the strength in depth to challenge for the Premier League crown?
