The forward would much rather move to Serie A
Ciro Immobile has claimed he wouldn’t mind playing in Italy again.
The striker spent much of last year on the fringes of the Borussia Dortmund squad, with the player unable to find his goalscoring form. He has been linked with a move to Anfield, as the Reds hunt for a new striker, but it looks unlikely he will move to England with the player instead favouring a switch to Italy.
“Let’s wait and see”
He told Coverciano: “A return to Italy is not fantasy football. There’s always that chance. Let’s wait and see, first I need to speak with the new coach. We are in the early stages of the transfer market, so it’s still very early.”
Last time he was in Italy was during his time at Torino, where he managed to bag himself 22 goals. Since leaving the club, he has been unable to replicate that goalscoring form and a return to his homeland seems likely.
