Kovacic has fallen down the pecking order in Madrid

Mateo Kovacic joined Real Madrid from Inter Milan for €29 million in the summer of 2015. Milan was forced to sell him due to Financial Fair Play.

But since the move, the Croatian hasn’t quite settled in the club. He has fallen down the pecking order behind Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casimero and often reduced to the bench or substitute appearances. He has just started 6 league games this season which is quite less.

Real Madrid are planning to bolster their squad this summer as they want to challenge for title next season. Many players are also linked with a move away from the club and Kovacic is one of them. The 23 year old is frustrated with the lack of  regular playing time and wants to move away this summer in hope of getting more game time.

Inter Milan are aware of his condition and is planning to bring him back. Inter are considering making a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to Calciomercato.com .

But Inter Milan are currently 4th in the Premier in Serie A and are fighting for the place to qualify for Champions League next season. And they know they will have much better chances to sign Kovacic if thy can guarantee him Champions League football next season.
