A host of Premier League clubs have been handed a blow in their pursuit of the player as he closes in on new Madrid deal
Isco is close to agreeing a new deal with Real Madrid, which means that several Premier League sides look set to miss out on his signature this summer.
According to reports today, the Spaniard is set to be offered new terms in La Liga, with his current deal set to expire in just 12 months time.
Struggled for gametime at Madrid
It looked like the player might be on his way out of Madrid and he has been linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs not just this summer but over the past year too.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Man United have all been linked with his signature and it looked like he could end up in the Premier League when he found gametime at the Bernabeu hard to come by.
However, in the second half of the last campaign, he was handed a lot more first-team action because of an injury to teammate Gareth Bale. He took his chance and made the most of it, impressing in the Champions League most of all.
He helped his side beat Man United in the Super Cup too and has reportedly decided that he wants to stay and continue to ply his trade for Real Madrid.
With this news, the club are now set to offer him a new deal which will see him tie his long-term future down to the club.
