Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has stated that their derby-day victory against Manchester United on Sunday was a team-effort, despite him scoring two out of the four goals.

The Argentine gave City the lead at the Etihad Stadium in the first-half before Yaya Toure doubled their lead.

It was Aguero who took centre stage once again after he made it 3-0 just after half-time. Goals then came from Samir Nasri and Wayne Rooney to end the derby.

Despite his two-goal heroics, Aguero took time to applaud the whole City team for their tremendous victory.

‘The most important thing is that the goals gave us the win.

‘I’m very happy that we won three important points, especially against United.

‘All the team were brilliant, the defence as well. We’re all one team. There are no individual heroes.

‘We’re all heroes, even the players on the bench. The most important thing is we won and we are happy.’
