Italian giants Inter Milan have warned off Chelsea amid interest in their star striker Mauro Icardi.
Inter Milan will not have to sell Chelsea target Mauro Icardi if they miss out on Champions League, insists club chief.
Inter are currently fifth in Serie A, just one point behind fourth placed Lazio with four games to go.
Earlier reports this year claimed qualification for next season’s Champions League was pivotal for the San Siro club so they could balance their books. If not it was reported Inter may have to sell star players, such as Icardi, who is a summer target for Chelsea.
“If the season ended today, we would’ve missed our target of Champions League qualification,
“But there’s only a one-point gap and five rounds to go. It’s still open.
“We have many plans for the future, both with and without Champions League football.
“I don’t think we’ll need to necessarily sell a big player if we don’t get into the tournament, as last season we found a different way to balance the books too.”
