Ruud Gullit believes Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal will become the new Tottenham boss next season after meeting with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Gullit claims that Van Gaal’s move to the north London club is a ‘done deal’ after Levy met Van Gaal at his house to discuss terms.

The former Chelsea manager told BBC Radio 5 live: ‘I know for sure the chairman of Tottenham was at Van Gaal’s house. I think it’s a done deal, but you never know.’

The news will come as a blow for current Spurs boss Tim Sherwood, who signed an 18-month deal in December, but looks certain to be replaced in the summer.

Van Gaal will be a free agent in the summer as fellow Dutchman Guus Hiddink prepares himself to become the new Netherlands coach after the 2014 World Cup in BRazil.

The 62-year-old recently opened the door to potential Premier League suitors as he revealed his desire to manage in England.
