Croatian left-back Ivan Strinic is diagnosed with a heart condition. The condition is cardiac hypertrophy. Strinic will need rest for some time before undergoing further medical examination.

Ivan Strinic was one of Croatia’s key players in their run to the final of the World Cup this summer. He started all of Croatia’s 7 matches except their final group game against Iceland. The left-back joined Milan from Sampdoria this summer. However, he will have to wait to make his debut for the 7-time Champions League winners.

AC Milan said that the exams were “worthy of further study to be carried out after a period of rest. For this reason, the player must temporarily suspend sporting activity until the completion of the exams”.

AC Milan were to play their Serie A opener today against Genoa. However, the Ponte Morandi Bridge in Genoa collapsed, leading to the deaths of 39 people. Hence, the match will take place on 31st October. Milan will play their first Serie A match against Napoli at Naples next Saturday.
