Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, will give his side a huge boost of morale when he signs a contract extension in the coming weeks.

The 20-year-old has been at the club since the age of 9 and he has made it clear that he wants to stay at the north London side for the whole of his career. He has vowed to fans that his generation will bring the glory days back to Arsenal as they look to end their current trophy droubt.

The new contract is expected to be a long-term deal with a starting wage of £80k-a-week. The contract will also include staged pay rises at certain times of the contract.

In an interview with the midfielder, Wilshere made it very clear he wanted to stay at Arsenal and he also dreams of one day being the captain of Arsenal FC.

This news comes after Carl Jenkinson signed a long-term contract a few weeks back. It is also expected that, Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain will all sign long-term contracts at the club as well as Arsenal look to build on a British core.

Wilshere said: ‘I’m talking to the club and I will probably be committing my future to them in the next couple of weeks. I know the team are going through a bad spell at the moment but that’s like any team. That’s not a problem for me nor is it a problem if the fans are booing us. We have to change that ourselves.’

An announcement from the club is expected to be made in the upcoming weeks when the deal has been agreed.
