There has been wide speculation over where Jadon Sancho’s future lies and the underlying fact is that he could Borussia Dortmund if his asking price is met.
Ideally, the Bundesliga side would like to keep him for one more season but there is significant interest from Premier League clubs, especially Manchester United.
Liverpool and Chelsea are also thought to be in the running but might not be able to scour up his £120m price tag. Sancho is Europe’s most lethal winger right now with 30 goal contributions this season in 23 Bundesliga appearances. He left Manchester City to prove himself and now, he is one of the most sought-after youth talents on the planet.
The 20-year-old has shown an eagerness to return to his home country. Currently, Manchester United can offer him the most lucrative deal in terms of wages and playing time. However, they will also have to break their transfer record to get him currently set by Paul Pogba’s £89m switch from Juventus.
With the current ongoing crisis across the globe, football clubs are taking on significant financial hits which is likely to reflect on their transfer window spendings this summer. Record-breaking deals are not exactly on the horizon as clubs struggle to keep up with operations without regular-season football. Of course, a club of United’s standings will not have to deal with extreme circumstances but even they might be cautious about dishing out upwards of £100m after this campaign.
