Dan Micciche has claimed Jadon Sancho could be England’s ‘Neymar’ if he is properly nurtured. The 18 year old is regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in the European circuit currently.

Sancho came through the ranks at Watford but had his development at Manchester City. Despite being one of the finest young footballers on the UK soil the 18 year old struggled for game time and decided to make his way out of the club. He joined Borussia Dortmund in the last summer and has already made a mark of his own at the club.

He had a slow start to his first season but went on to finish with one goal and four assists in just 12 games. He also caught the attention in the U17 World Cup held in India although he had a very short stint for his country.

Micciche said, “Provided he doesn’t become restricted he could be our Neymar-type player – in terms of being unpredictable, playing on that left-hand side.

“And he’s flamboyant, entertaining to watch. But like Neymar, he’s effective with it. In most games he’ll create something – it’s not a beauty contest. He’s not on the pitch flicking it over someone’s head for the sake of it.

“First of all his mentality is strong – he’s gone from Watford to Man City, so moving up north – and then had the mentality to move to another country.

“He’s travelled the world with club and country – that takes a lot of discipline, sacrifice. And he’s delivered on every stage he’s been put on, including now in Germany.”
